It... read more We were in Este on a holiday when everything appeared to be closed, and while wandering around looking for a place to have lunch, we stumbled across Ripasso. It was much more elegant than what we were looking for, but it turned out to be just great. We had a great lunch in a quite elegant, modern Italian fish restaurant. We ate very well and were very happy. The food was excellent, service was slow but OK, and the price was very reasonable...€35/person.

I have lived in Paris, DC, Los Angeles and traveled extensively. This is an excellent restaurant, surprising to find in a small town like Este that does not have a large tourist presence. The secondi are fish based dishes paired with perfect seasoning, never overcooked and always delicious. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful in selecting wine pairings. This is definitely a must go experience!

The food was amazing, fresh and tasty, and the wine that the owner suggested to us matched perfectly with what we ordered. The staff is friendly and professional, and ready to answer your questions about the dishes and the fish provenience.

I also had the tagliato with porcini...perfectly cooked with a generous serving of porcini on top. The home made bread was superb, as well as the wine suggested by the owner. We’ll definitely return.
