We stopped in to have a drink after going on the Essex River Tour (highly recommend) and doing some antique-shopping/browsing. Our phones were having a little trouble due to dying batteries and they didn't have a paper menu! I know everything is going high tech, but a back-up menu is a great idea for older folks, people without smart phones or with the battery dying, and storms. We didn't end up eating there, but kin... What Ethan C doesn't like about Grill At Great Marsh:
Great selection of food and quality was excellent. The service was friendly but SO SLOW. we were told there was a 20 minute wait for a table but waited 40 minutes. Then waited another 15 minutes before the waiter showed up at the table. Food came out reasonably fast and, again, was great. We had the cauliflower, bean burger, and shrimp tacos and would recommend all three. But after we were done waited at least 20-30... View all feedback.

We didn't end up eating there, but kind of wish we had. I think it would have been better than where we did go, but the inability to look at a menu sort of did that in. By the time we logged into their wi-fi, the battery died.
This place is one of the best on the north shore. Have yet to have a bad meal there and don't think I will. I have been there like 10 times service excellent food to die for with so many flavors
Great beers, really good food (I've has the steak tips and rack of ribs meals so far) with a nice view of the Essex River marshlands especially at sunset! Lots of outdoor seating to eat, separate beer garden area, and a roomy dining area upstairs as well. Or stop in at the tap room on the opposite side for a drink, flight and some apps. Great experience along the scenic road through this quaint section of Ipswich.
A must visit at least once!! A small tap room with great tasting beer, hard seltzer’s, pizza and pretzels. Such friendly fun staff!!
Decent pub food and friendly service. The beer is generally good definitely better than Truenorth, but not as good as something like Trillium or Treehouse.
