What Douglas Stolze doesn't like about Carlson's Landing:
Business is not open at this time. Is Closed for renovations disappointingly we found out as we arrived on 5 10 23 as the food and restaurant atmosphere on a nice day is superb. They anticipate opening officially in the next few weeks I would assume prior to Memorial Day ! Until such time in Essex enjoy the black seal on main st awesome place View all feedback.

Went on Easter Sunday with a group of 10. Server (Will) did a great job. Special menu was limited but diverse, everyone was covered. I had lobster eggs benedict, very tasty and I am glad I ordered. This place is now on my list for waterfront dining destinations.
Will never go here again because of how we were treated by the manager. Went here for my moms birthday, we're a large family so I called the day before to see if I could make a reservation for 13. I was told they could do it but if I'd be ok with sitting on the patio. I said sure (assuming that if this restaurant had their patio open in 45 degree weather they would have outside heaters). So we come to the restaurant to find that not only are their no heaters but they had two separate at two separate heights all single filed so we weren't sitting together at all. (One table was just a cheap camping table. This is advertised as a classy nice restaurant so we were a little tiffed. We voiced our grievances, not too mention we had my very pregnant (39 weeks) sister and their two year old with us out in the cold. The manager said I agreed to sit outside and declared they were all booked up for the evening when the restaurant was empty. Btw We sat in front of the entrance on the patio and only five other small party's came in during our entire meal and one of them sat at the bar. Their were plenty of open tables inside the entire time we were there. So They kept us outside, and offered blankets. They eventually offered to move us to the bar area where they're was not only not enough room but our 2 year old would have to sit at the bar chair on his booster seat--this bar chair was not booster seat comparable btw. The manager still insisted that since I agreeed to sit outside on the phone their was nothing he could do. We shouldn't just left but we have plans and with our size group we couldnt go anyway else on such short notice. so we decided to just order our food, eat, and leave as soon as possible. The waitress was nice, I felt bad for her having to deal with the situation where we were unhappy, uncomfortable, and freezing. The food was fine, the burgers were nothing special, fish and chips looked good. My mom got some kind of nice seafood dish but stated it was cold. All in all, I would never go here again. I only gave it two stars because the food wasn't disgusting and the waitress was nice.
