Spoonz - Essex

This place has become my favorite local place for breakfast . We have had breakfast there no fewer than times this past month. I have been there with my wife, with my kids, and with my grand kids. My staple is the bacon and...eggs with home fries and throw in the onions. This is done perfectly. There is usually a special. Last visit we had pancakes with strawberry rhubarb . Out of this world. The restaurant itself is very clean , although a little dated but this just adds to the friendly country feel. The staff are great and very friendly. They always seem to be right there filling your coffee cup. Prices are very reasonable.

Today, on September , we were traveling to Windsor and decided to make a pit stop at Spoonz Restaurant for breakfast. It had been over a year since our last visit, so we thought it was time to return. My wife ordered the small French toast and I opted for my usual order of two eggs over easy, link sausage, potatoes, and whole wheat toast. Our food arrived promptly and the staff was polite. My wife enjoyed her meal, but I was disappointed to find that my sausage links were dry and lacked flavor. The potatoes were a bit greasy, so I left them unfinished. Overall, the breakfast was just average. While we have had exceptional breakfasts during our travels, this was not one of them.

Restaurant was nice and clean. Staff was friendly and quick to refill coffee. Food was served fairly quickly and was delicious. The potatoes were excellent. Nice little breakfast place with good food and good prices.

Visited for breakfast and left disappointed. The service was adequate but the meal left much to be desired. I ordered a traditional breakfast and only the eggs were up to par. My bacon was soaking in grease, so my napkin was used to soak it up, I specifically asked for well done home fries and the were hot but not even close to bring well done. The toast seemed as it just ran by the toaster because it was soft. The coffee was good.

I visit this restaurant at least twice a month -- food is always great -- i mainly go for breakfast with friends -- the staff is very friendly. Typical small town restaurant where if you are a regular they know exactly what you want even when you a little quirky with your order.
