Naturally, we wanted to watch the game at the Mexican place, even though Germany was playing in Toronto. I called ahead, even stopped by on my way back to the flat, and spoke to the waitress. She assured me: “Yes, sure — 8 p.m., outside, with a view of the screen.” In the end, there was no table for us. We were sent to the basement and told we might get a table once the game started. The same waitress kept promising to move us, but nothing happened. She was polite and reassuring, but that did not help much. It felt as though she simply did not really care. That said, the food and drinks were excellent, and the other staff members were much more attentive. So it was really just this one person who let the experience down.
