Attentive and courteous staff, but... for 4 people a starter soup, 6 pieces of bread with garlic sauce, 4x buffet and 4x dessert and 2 drinks for each... for 216 euros... I think it's pretty hearty. Why does fancy food have to be so expensive? I definitely don't have to go there anymore. It's a shame that some people have to exaggerate it so much...

The ability to put together your own food and have it fried straight away is simply brilliant. You can always try new things and enjoy the fresh ingredients. Brunch is also a highlight I always enjoy the delicious soups in particular! The restaurant offers a huge selection that allows everyone to find the right dish whether with allergies, vegan or for religious reasons. It's practical because everyone can put together something that suits their needs. What particularly impresses me is the consistently high quality of the ingredients and service for more than 15 years. The staff are always friendly and helpful and often know what I want before I even say it. For anyone who loves delicious, fresh food and wants to dine in a relaxed atmosphere Mongo's in Essen is always a top choice!

The quality of the food is absolutely mediocre – you can feel the chain restaurant atmosphere in every dish. The restaurant in Essen is cramped and somewhat uncomfortable. Despite the price, there's no salad or dessert buffet. Sure, it's Sunday brunch – but why not every day? For that kind of money, we'd rather go somewhere else and support authentic Asian restaurants that serve better food and don't just serve customers like they're in a cafeteria.

Fast service, fantastic wine selection, and good wine recommendations. It took a while, and you need some practice to combine the sauce pre selected at the table with the right ingredients (meat, vegetables, etc. from the buffet and add them to the roast. I always had garlic and ginger with me, though : I'd be happy to come back. And when I come to eat alone, the noise doesn't bother me, which sometimes makes conversation difficult. Oh yes: Great restrooms, stylish, clean, and with soft close lids. That's where the wheat is often separated from the chaff among restaurateurs. The ambiance there, too, wasn't skimped on.
