A really nice location. This is where Jung and Alt meet. There is hardly anything better for me in food and environment. Drinks and food are very inexpensive. The staff is just wonderful. In short, a beautiful economy with tradition. I like being there. Conclusion: The owl is a must! Thanks to the Heidenreich family for some short-term afternoon, which can also go to the early days. I'm excited and happy to come back. René A really nice location. Young and old meet here. In my opinion, there is hardly anything better in Essen and the surrounding area. Drinks and food are very cheap. The staff is just wonderful. In short, a beautiful economy with tradition. I like being there. Conclusion : The owl is a must! Thanks to the Heidenreich family for many an entertaining afternoon, which can sometimes go on into the morning. I am delighted and would love to come back. René
Cosy old pub ,leckeres beer, nette service, rewards on Friday night on any case reservation makes sense on weekends
Come to dinner and have stayed to drink! Actually, I just wanted to spend a relaxed evening with good bourgeois cuisine with a few friends in this place. But after I was always able to get to know the angels at the pottery with their divine gift a new beer at the right moment, the food was only incidental. Super shop where you don't want the beer to be tapped into a 5 liter circle league C cup, but you can also order a test tube with crumb and, after emptying, just this one, the next riot has already been on the table! Conclusion: Food good, power world class!

In the city part ruettenscheid in Essen there are hundreds of caffes, restaurants (from simple to fine restaurants) and a few pubs (pubs) have survived. the owl (the owl) is one of them. friendly service, a warm welcome, good beer and hearty eating. thei is not...fine dining room yet it is a place for a romantic evening. it is noisy that you are overlaid, there will be people sitting behind the bar drinking beer and discussing matters, there are people eating one of the generous portions of hearty spits, there are people playing cards. it's comfortable. they can sit outside, which is not so attractive, the tables are on the pavement (which is predominant for smokers that they can light up there.) in the inner are tables and benches and high chairs and tables. They have he suppe and the one-pot (steel) of the day and arrange a lot of others. we enjoyed french french fries (hardened sausage is a little cult dish in this area, it has ashes to do with any Indian dish, it is in the ground sausage in curry sauce doused. I had bark with roasted carrots and an salat together a satisfying meal in the sociable environment. we will definitely go back.
Very cozy and well maintained gastronomy. Served various beers and a good kitchen. Here you will find the good old Ruhrpott charm. Very recommended.
Are you looking for an authentic pub in eating rüttenscheid? this old-fashioned pub is always very busy with locals. it's quirky, and they have to talk about German hit music, but it's fun for drinks. it is in a hotel and owned by a family that successfully operates this site for old. great for beer and schnapps. do not miss this place when they are pub in a real rh area.
