However, the Restaurant has changed a bit now and no longer is a steak place but a Korean Restaurant (more or less . To be honest my lunch game in Eschborn has been off the boil a bit lately, since they installed a creepy statue at Eschborn Sud train station my life has been a roller-coaster of confusion (I challenge you not to question why a depressed looking man is standing out in the cold in a suit at the station before you realize its a creepy statue , so honestly I hadn't noticed that Bellugas upstairs restaurant had changed! I have even been to the down stairs takeaway area and not had a clue. But over Christmas my boss had a her birthday and my colleague was leaving the team so we needed a lunch and a place to enjoy some drinks and Belluga upstairs was suggested. I wasn't keen as a Korean restaurant in Eschborns town centre had been suggested but vetoed for being too far away to walk. So begrudgingly I went along thinking that I was gonna have to eat the german food off their lunch menu, but alas they had changed into a Korean restaurant fully (YAY . The concept is still the same down stairs you get a massive dish of food to takeaway or eat there for like 6 euros not great but not bad aslong as you don't get the pasta, upstairs is the bar/Restaurant, fancy eating establishment used to be the home to 50 euro steaks and 5 euros for chips, but also a ten euro 2 course quick lunch menu. however now get rid of the steaks and expensive chips and replace that with kind of expensive Korean food and the same lunch menu but with some of the Korean dishes added just without the starter of soup or salad. Just to note, there is still some more german options on the menu for your colleagues who are not very adventurous with their foods (to quote my colleague; eugh Korean food isn't it just that horrible cabbage stuff(no irony lost on the fact that germans have an essentially less tasty version of Kimchi I ordered the squid (as did most of the table and a side of Kimchi it was all brilliant very enjoyable I must say! So I fully suggest going here to anyone wanting to do a business lunch or have a decent lunch in Eschborn! Although I must add this is probably a move to stop the monopoly that MoMos had in Eschborn but, I for one love having two Korean restaurants as means I should always be able to get some tasty food in eschborn! Old Review: There are 3 options for lunch at Beluga and I have been fortunate to taste them all (fortunate in most cases . On the plus side- there is also a bar here! The downstairs is comprised of a quick lunch area where you can have food to eat in house or take away. The food, to be honest, is a little less than average in most cases, but the portion sizes are massive! You can order a half portion and still have enough to fill yourself up and then some. The menu changes often with a few staples always on it such as chili con carne and there's always a pasta dish (I advise not to get the pasta unless you happen to enjoy the taste of cardboard . They often have a nice Thai curry which with enough Sriracha sauce tastes pretty good and will provide you with a satisfying lunch for a decent price. Upstairs you have 2 options: the quick lunch menu or ordering from the steak menu. The quick lunch menu is 10 euros and you get a choice of their soup of the day or salad followed by the choice of one of 7 main courses. The soup of the day is generally really good and normally the choice I go for unless for some reason they have decided to have a mushroom soup (yuck . And the main dishes are small but always enjoyable and satisfying for lunch. I highly recommend if you have some time for lunch and want to eat in a good atmosphere taking the quick lunch option especially if it's sunny as you can sit out on the roof terrace and enjoy your meal. The Steak option is great but as always with steak in Germany- very expensive. I have been fortunate to have been taken out for a few steaks on other company's credit cards and have enjoyed them, although I will say that they are often a bit inconsistent with their serving of the steaks. They also have a ladies filet mingion and a gentleman's one. Not to be emasculated, my lunch partner and I decided that we didn't want to appear unmanly and chose the gentleman's cut. This beast of a steak was a challenge to finish and definitely left me unproductive for the day, but at least I was in a state of tasty beef induced happiness. The bar is nice but expensive. It is useful if you want to have a couple of drinks after work though or are putting on a work drinks event and you don't have to pay!

I have been inside of Belluga twice for drinks and both times was overwhelmed by the gaudy white table clothes and its attempt to appeal towards a fancy, fine-dining customer base. I guess when you charge a bajillion dollars for a steak, this is what happens. What I never really realized is that this place is Korean run. I had heard that they did have some Korean dishes on the menu and they constantly keep popping up on Groupon with an all-you-can-eat Korean buffet (being on Groupon is not really a great thing in my eyes for businesses that are not brand new, no offense . Still didn't want to give this place a try... But I had to. It was my boyfriend's co-worker's birthday and she picked Belluga, of all places, to eat at for her birthday lunch. I reluctantly went along knowing I'd probably waste a bit of money on something I wouldn't be super impressed by. Somehow... I found myself really enjoying my meal here. I ordered from the lunch menu the Ojingeo-Bokeum (Squid with onions and veggies in a chili-sauce and I thought it was pretty damn delicious. I also got a heaping plate of kimchi which was tasty too. The price (from the lunch menu! was around 8 Euros or so (normally 13 Euros! It was filling and perfectly spiced. I would absolutely go here again for lunch and order off of the lunch menu. The normal menu is far too pricy for me. And I'll do my best to not spill on their white table cloths.
