Food was a little bland and also light on the meat (I’m all about protein! Admittedly it was filling and only $7 but. I’d have liked more meat to potato ratio in the beef pastie (pronounced “pass-tee” I believe View all feedback.
This is a delightful pasty shop that we visit each time we're in Michigan. We prefer Gram's Pasties over Dobbers. Our favorite is the beef, rutabaga, and carrot pasty. On this visit, we tried it with gravy and loved it both ways. We even bring a small cooler with us to take a few frozen pasties home, so we can enjoy them again without having to make the long drive back.
Grams was our first encounter with pasties in the summer of 2019, and my two teenagers and I decided to try the beef and rutabaga filling. We absolutely loved them! We went through the drive-thru and took our pasties to the beach, but once we got back to our rental, we all regretted not getting more. Every other place we've tried since then has let us down! I really wish they would ship frozen pasties!
This is one of the best pasties I've tried in the UP. It could have been improved with a flakier crust, as it ended up being a bit soggy from being wrapped and kept warm. However, the meat-to-potato ratio was excellent. I would definitely recommend it!
Gluten free pasties were frozen. And when cooked they were not that good. I have had better.
First time trying a pastie. Small town shop. Has that michigan UP atmosphere. We'll we were eating multiple locals stopped in to grab them for on the road or take home.
