We stayed the night in Escalante after sailing into Santander. There are surprisingly a number of bars/restaurants in this small village. We visited 2 before deciding to eat here. It didn’t look the best but we didn’t find the service in the others friendly.(Yes, we do speak Spanish) We enjoyed a selection of tapas and very nice gin and tonics. We enjoyed it so much that we went back the next morning for breakfast. Fresh orange juice, coffee or tea, choose a freshly filled roll from a good selection and a pastry. All for 3€. The price didn’t dictate our enjoyment but we were pleasantly surprised by the quality for this price. The photo is early morning from the estuary across from the restaurant.
I have received a lot of the deal, the wide variety of pintxos from the bar and the large space inside the local.
A very nice bar very wide next to the marshes good views and a range of very wide skewers and sandwiches at good prices in customer service good education and good service.
