We had stopped in a hotel not far from here and had found this place on Google as we wanted somewhere to have breakfast. The staff were really friendly and service was fast. We enjoyed our breakfast, everything was cooked lovely. We enjoyed it that much we forgot to take a picture of it before we ate it all! Only reason for the four stars and not five is that for the price you don’t get the most food. However would still recommend if you are in the area.
Delicious burgers, pizza, and dough balls. Friendly and attentive staff. Relaxed atmosphere. Perfect for a meal before seeing a show at the theatre. Free street parking nearby and a short walk to the Duchess Theatre at Cavendish Centre, Long Eaton.
I’m honestly pretty frustrated after my breakfast experience. I ordered what should be one of the simplest things on the menu: egg on toast. What I was served, however, was two slices of dry, unbuttered toast with the eggs on the side — essentially a DIY version of the dish. That’s not what most people expect when they order egg on toast. Typically, it comes ready to eat, with the eggs already on buttered toast. What I received felt more like “eggs with toast on the side,” which is not the same thing. If that’s how the dish is served here, it really should be made clear on the menu. Otherwise, it just comes across as lazy or careless plating. I understand that some places might serve components separately to prevent soggy toast or to give customers control, but that doesn’t change the expectation attached to the name of the dish — especially something as standard as egg on toast. To make matters worse, I ended up walking out in frustration. I asked for egg on toast, and I simply didn’t get what I ordered. It may seem like a small detail, but when you’re paying for a meal, you expect it to be prepared properly and presented as advertised — not something you have to assemble yourself. Overall, a disappointing experience for something that should be basic and straightforward.
