What West98bury doesn't like about Spice Masala:
Thought we would try the takeaway as there had been some excellent reviews. As we are on self isolation we requested a delivery. We were very disappointed. The samosa were two of the smallest ones I have ever seen. Just minuscule. The matar paneer consisted of just a few peas and no discernible cheese. The Peshawar Nan was not a Peshawar nan. My wife and I went on Monday for our wedding anniversary, clean, neat, great service and excellent eating, and the bonus to be very cheap. After we tried the others before site, we found that spice masala is much better than the rest.
My partner and I visited this restaurant for the first time and enjoyed a delicious meal. We skipped starters, each had a curry, shared a side dish, and naan bread. We were planning on returning until we received the bill... The total came to £81 (written in a different pen than the rest of the bill), which seemed unusually high for what we had ordered. We checked the bill for any extra charges, but everything seemed fine. However, upon closer inspection, we realized that the total didn't add up. We ended up using our phones to calculate and confirmed that the correct total should have been £51. We pointed out the mistake to the waiter, who quickly corrected the bill to £51.15 and acknowledged the error. The behavior of the staff suggested that they were aware of their mistake. They were very grateful when we left, and even gave me a large chocolate bar, which seemed like a possible distraction technique. While the food and atmosphere were pleasant, it was disappointing to feel like we were being cheated. We left wondering how many other customers may have been overcharged without realizing it. A 60% markup is unacceptable, and as a result, we have decided not to return to this restaurant.
