Nice outside space, but weather abysmal so never got to use it. Parking not great, beware of permit parking area outside.

The Handpumps have been removed and replaced by a var... read more A lovely Country Pub on the edge of Loughton with lovely views over the forest ... BUT NO ENGLISH BEER !!! The Handpumps have been removed and replaced by a variety of Lagers and Ciders but NO Ales (not even bottles! No call for it we were informed ! The Bar /Restaurant was VERY cold the radiators were all off and the only source of heat (such as it was was from a ceiling mounted A.C. Unit. We opted for the Sunday Roast and to be fair, the Lamb was lovely and one of our party had the Pork however, on asking for Apple sauce, was told that there was none but she could have mustard or horse radish sauce !!! The Yorkshire puds were huge but unfortunately over done and dried out. The deserts sounded nice but when served up were nothing like they were described ...... What a shame, it could be such a nice Pub but we wont be going there again!

The staff were all cha... read more Great Sunday lunch with family. Starters were all delicious as were our mains. Will return as plenty on the menu I'd like to try myself ! The staff were all chatty friendly made time even though the pub was full to bursting with big tables of diners. Recommended, we'll definitely be back a few more times ! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
