This place is great for a quick tasty lunch. The banh mi is excellent and goes a step above the average banh mi. The seafood one is particularly good but at $13 isn't cheap. The food in general here is of a high standard and quality. Service is great. View all feedback.
What Meredith Lueilwitz doesn't like about Great Aunty Three:
So my husband and i drove 50min to get to this place we heard great reviews and really wanted to try it out as we both love Asian food.. parking is hard to find as its on the corner of a busy road.. we had the slow cooked pork belly roll $10 it was average pretty expensive we then tried the fresh rolls nothing great about them they were soo small we also ordered the pho you cant order a pho dac biet, pho tau bay.. not... Don't really understand the high ratings for this place, it's pricey for street food pho/bunh mi/bun, $13 for my beef Pho, but taste wise it's pretty middle of the road. Not that it's bad, but there's better & cheaper Pho around within walking distance. The service was friendly, and it was pleasant to sit outside to eat on the street on a nice sunny day.
Do not order the spring rolls. I've just ordered some that have clearly been sitting out well over expiry date. They are chewy and completely inedible. A complete waste of money. On the other hand, the Chicken Pho wasn't too bad, but the whole experience has been soured. I love me some spring rolls and these were the worst I've ever encountered.
Intriguing high ratings, wanted to give this eatery a go! The exterior and ambience was pleasant, a bit small but well organised in terms of layout to ensure you don't feel too claustrophobic. I liked the option to sit down either in or outside as regular pork roll stores don't provide seating. One of the staff was already attending to a lady's order though was greeted by another kitchen staff whom asked for my order, "Hi there, what would you like?" to which I answered but then be told, "she will take your order" pointing to the lady behind the counter. Pardon? Why she asked in the first place is beyond me and admittedly left a sour taste. My partner and I both ordered a chicken roll on brown roll with chilli and seated outside. The table was rocky due to having irregular table legs though added to the quirkiness to the trendy eatery's character. The banh mi came in a vintage red hashed bowl often served in 70-80's fast food outlets. It... read more
SUMMARY - place is a bit far off, definitely for the real foodies who wanna have an adventure, but once you are there it is well worth a try. FOOD - pork banh mi (vietnamese pork roll). Good bread but the standout was the amount of food inside the bread. Loaded with meat (good crispy pork belly) and plenty of carrots and other vegetables, along with chilli, this roll will definitely pack a punch. PRICE - $10. Pricey for a pork roll, which kinda let me down - although having said that the roll was massive. SETTING - small area for eat in, but a very genuine vietnamese restaurant setting in the heart of a trendy neighbourhood.
Pho broth too sweet, too fatty, not enough depth, meaning not enough taste. No special pho offered. No water offered so I had to buy a bottle. My ordering was interrupted by the cashier taking someone else's order, a regular. I felt very slighted. Next to me was a slurping burping man, but that's a good sign, right?
