Came in right when it opened and there was a line already! My bf and I got fish shrimp burritos with clam chowder as a starter. The food came so fast and everything was delicious! So good we couldn?t stop talking about it. I actually thought I wasstill going to be hungry but no, they have the perfect portions for your stomach. Wish I had more room to try out more itemshaha but we were extremely satisfied. Our tastebuds were grateful. I love the atmosphere in there too. We had a great time.
As much as I love seafood, and I have been trying fish chips, whoever and wherever offering it, I didn't care about this place's fish chips since it was salty. Hopefully, you might have a better luck.
Casual place near the beach in Leucadia. The fish was fresh and the counter service was good. I ordered fish tacos with salmon and they were yummy and plenty of food. I appreciate that there is a lot of outdoor seating, too. My friend ordered a fishplate with brussel sprouts, and it looked healthy and they said it tasted good. We'll be back soon.
Super empty on a Friday night. Old school vibes. Picnic table seating with covered patio and heat lamps. Tried a few items on the menu including grilled salmon plate, poke bowl and grilled salmon tacos. Food came out quickly and very friendly service.Enjoyed the Brussels sprouts and broccolini sides. Salmon and poke 4/5. Just lacking a bit of flavor and comparing portion sizesto other places. Playing 80s jams the entire time which was a refreshing change up.
Place is really nice and charming. Food quality was good. Portion size was good. Taco was better than in other taquterias in the area. Bowls with raw fish cubes seemed to be most popular dish. Burrito had a lot of rice and didn't look or taste so nice asother foods. I liked the family owned restaurant look and branding with t-shirts etc. This place could use some happy andservice minded people because now service was just average, something you expect at fast food franchise. Cost 12.95 per portionwas ok level.

Had the fish and chips. I guess they must salt the fish before they bread it because there were several spots that were like biting into a salt-lick. It was good when it wasn't in the salty spots. Do go down that way to often, but I don't know if I would try this place again. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch

Fish 101 in Leucadia is a fantastic spot for fresh, sustainably sourced seafood in a relaxed coastal setting. We tried the grilled and Baja-style mahi mahi tacos, poke bowl, and fish curry—all were flavorful and expertly prepared. The staff was friendly and accommodating, even though we arrived 30 minutes before closing. Highly recommended for a casual and enjoyable beachside meal.
Since we moved to Oro Valley Arizona 6 years ago we go back to San Diego every 6 Limited weeks and always have seafood. Fish 101 had the best fish tacos we have had ever!! Now on our list as a must stop. Casual beach vibe coupled with great food!
Awesome menu (i wanted to order everything), super friendly staff and chill vibe for a low key but delicious and healthy meal. i had one fishy oyster but that comes with the territory, otherwise, food was delicious (we ordered ahi fish tacos, salmon plate with brussels and asparagus, oysters and the ice cream) we devoured everything and will certainly be back.
Great Maui Maui plate and salmon. Clam chowder was o.k., but not my favorite. Fast service for a busy night. Love the atmosphere!
I wanted to love this place given the majority of positive reviews. However, we were unfortunately disappointed with the food we ordered except for the chips and guacamole, which was a tasty intro. We ordered the fish n’ chips and the fish tacos and we found the prepared fish to be too oily for us. The citrus slightly helped, but the fish was simply too heavily battered and held onto too much oil in our opinion. The fish itself used in the dishes had a lot of potential and tasted fresh, but sad to see how they came out. Maybe we just ordered the wrong thing? Not sure… silver lining was the staff being friendly and the casual environment.

Great all around. Fish tacos are amazing but next to me I saw the pokie bowl that looked even better. Great beer selection as well.
Really good fried fish and fish tacos! I was thinking the beer battered fish would be as small a s a chicken tender but they were full on fillet size! Definitely would just get two instead of three on the beer battered fish and chips. The sauce was super good too!
Cool little seafood restaurant on the 101. Had the fish and chips, I know you can get those anywhere, why not try other things? I'm allergic to shellfish. The fish was not too greasy, and the fries were alright. It's a small seating area, order at the counter, take a seat (outside out front, or on the patio out back). Food was good, they do have adult drinks and some cool merch.
Grilled shrimp sandwich and Brussels sprouts. Same good quality and taste over the years.
Bikes by here a few times on our trip and we are so happy we decided to try it out! Great atmosphere, very reasonable, really good selection of food and drink options. I loved my spicy Baja tuna tacos, my wife loved her shrimp plate, and we both loved the side of Brussels sprouts! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a casual no-fuss dinner option (or any other time for that matter)!

Fantastic local gem! We always opt for the fish tacos or fish burrito, and they never disappoint—always fresh and delicious. There's usually a long queue, but it moves swiftly. The food also comes out quickly; they really know how to run things efficiently. The atmosphere is laid-back with a surf vibe, and the service is outstanding.
We made a quick stop for fish tacos on our way to LA after getting a recommendation for this place, and I’m glad we did. Being a surf town, the prices are a bit on the higher side, but it’s worth it. I initially planned to try the fish tacos, but I ended up ordering a poke bowl instead. The poke was incredibly fresh, and the brown rice was cooked to perfection. One of my friends ordered the fish tacos, and after tasting one, I was blown away—absolutely delicious! The staff, including the owners, are exceptionally friendly and genuinely care about their customers, showcasing their pride in serving fresh fish. Today happened to be blue mahi day, so I had that in my poke bowl, and the fish tacos were also made with blue mahi. I highly recommend this spot, and an added bonus is their pet-friendly outdoor patio. Check out my photos!
The yogurt and fish at this restaurant are amazing. The staff is attentive and takes great care in providing excellent service. Every detail is considered, making for a wonderful dining experience.

The freshest fish you can find, and you really can’t go wrong with the menu options. One of my favorites is the fish plate or bowl featuring grilled Mahi Mahi!
The best fish I've ever had! I was in the area with my family and decided to try the grilled halibut, while the others ordered mahi mahi, which they also raved about. It was all delicious!
Great lunch options. Grilled fish and shrimp menu items are Gluten Free and Great! Good local beer for those not GF, and Cider and Wine for those that are! Deliscious!
Excellent house wine excellent Baja fish tacos! My husband really enjoyed the BC Oysters as well. Would recommend to anyone!

Leisure area on the beach in Leucadia. The fish was fresh and the counter service was good. I ordered fish tacos with salmon and they were delicious and lots of food. The restaurant has a lovely and charming atmosphere. The food quality was quite good, and the portion sizes were generous. The tacos were better than those from other taco places in the area, while the bowls with raw fish cubes appeared to be the standout dish. The burrito, however, was packed with rice and lacked the visual appeal of other dishes. I appreciated the family-run vibe and the branding, including the T-shirts. However, the service could use some improvement; it felt average, similar to what you might find at a fast-food franchise. The price of $12.95 per serving was reasonable.
