We found the battered fish pieces to be too greasy. The serving sizes of the chips were limited and they were not hot. Our squid pieces in a salt pepper coating were better; but again not served hot. It appears that this business is was a local institution that may now be trading on past glories.
Told squid shack was nice, very disappointed. My wife ordered shark as she loves shark. Turned out to be very very bland. Budget fish yes, but no taste at all. I had blue bone groper which was nice. Both fish was greasy. The chips was just luke warm. The servings was very mediocre. The staff was friendly, reluctant to revisit
I couldn't eat the fish at this restaurant. It did not seem fresh and had a strong fishy odor. The oil used was also not good, resulting in a disappointing meal that we couldn't finish. I definitely would not return to this restaurant.
Very bad staff the owner and manager shouts at there customers i would not eat here again chris is not good staff member the place is not clean
For a local and patron to this business I was shocked made to feel like some sort of scum! During our years as a B B Karibu B B I always made sure that our visitors paid a visit to this business, taken family and friends there over the 17 years. The treatment that was disgusting and yelled at and told not to come back in front of all their clients eating there. I stood at the door watching my husband collect the food we ordered to eat outside, the lady yelled at me for not having a mask and I replied that I had a exemption, she did'nt even want to check it out, just yelled at me to go and never come back! Typical behaviour of Mass Formation Phychosis! I understand her fear at the same time I also have a right to not wear a mask due to my medical reason. The fish chips were nice but hard to enjoy when treated like a scum! This busines needs to remember that we the locals are their bread butter and Albany is still a small town and one upset could lead to a downturn in business.
