The food is good but portions have shrunk since I was last here, also prices for a 3pm meal were ridiculous. We dined in a near empty restaurant and when a group of 5 came in they seated them almost on top of us! A little bit of common sense wouldn't have gone astray. If they continue this trend they won't last which would be a shame.
Batonies is a hidden gem located in the heart of Emo, Laois, Ireland. During ForestFest 2023, they offered breakfast each morning, which is not something they typically do. Despite being extremely busy catering to festival-goers, the food was fantastic, the service was excellent, and the staff were friendly. It was a relief to escape the constant rain and relax in their comfortable seating area. They even allowed us to charge our phones and enjoy cappuccinos in their charming courtyard after breakfast. They truly saved the day and we look forward to returning for dinner. Having delicious Italian food in the heart of Laois is a true delight for the soul.

Absolutely amazing food, atmosphere, staff and restaurant. I can’t thank the staff enough for how delicious and tasty the food was . Must try for anyone who has not tried this beautiful gem yet . Defo will be back again soon. Special mention and thanks to Patricia and all that helped with the my engagement plans too.
