Diners Chicken Shack - Emily
Diners Chicken Shack
Description
Nestled in north-central Minnesota, this small-town diner shines with generous, home-style breakfasts, signature broasted chicken and oversized stuffed hashbrowns. Friendly, fast service and classic "Up North" charm make it a favorite for hearty meals, though the compact dining room can mean waits. Service quality is occasionally inconsistent and staff can be strict about closing times; some longtime items (like biscuits-and-gravy) are no longer offered. Overall, it’s worth a stop for large portions and comforting diner fare.

Sweet people, topped only by their sweet cinnamon rolls. They melt in the mouth. If you leave here hungry it's your own fault. Service: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Stuffed Hash Browns

This was a really great place to visit! Great atmosphere! Great character! Our waitress was an absolute doll! Really nice! Great food! Wheel chair accessable. Kid friendly. I noticed highchairs. Very clean. Reasonable prices. Plenty of parking. Service: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast
The food was great both visits. Our first visit was a Saturday, our waitress was kind. We returned two weeks later on a Sunday and had the opposite experience. Two different waitress ladies rudely seated us, one with brown hair and glasses (particularly unwelcoming) and one with sandy blonde hair kept staring at us as if we were not welcome. I cracked a couple of plain jokes as we dined there in attempt to lighten the weird and heavy mood with the waitress and finally got somewhat of a genuine smile at the very end. Seemed like they think they run the town based on their very audible conversations. One comment we will never forget: ...no one can get away with anything in this town. From now on we will turn around and walk out if the two proud and rude ladies are there. Definitely tipping the kind Saturday waitress double because she has to put up with her coworkers foolish and childish behavior.
