Caught up with friends here on a cold and wet Sunday morning. As soon as you enter, your greeted with a smile and great service. Atmosphere was quiet, warm and welcoming. We had the scones. Soft and fluffy. Jam was delicious. Coffee was good too. Great place, hard to find parking as the area is very popular and the crowds were out and about, as usual so I was told, even though the weather was pretty ordinary. I'd ima... View all feedback.

What User dislikes about Sassafras Cafe:
We tried out this cafe and selected it after Miss Marples Tea room was busy and the reviews on the devonshire tea were not what we found. The scones were a great shape and size but were very plain and tasteless. Not a place we would recommend. View all feedback.

Loves this place for its relaxed atmosphere and best coffee! yum skeps the size of your head! the personal is always so friendly! our children love this place and the personal is always so nice to them!

Great service and delicious meals and coffee. very friendly welcome and clean facilities. a great place to stop at a cold rainy day

I went in to get a coffee and a focaccia and in my 30-40 minutes I was shocked at the comments made! an older man I can only accept is the owner or chef who made notices about customers in a disgusting...man (looking and looking). many swear and the other staff seemed uncomfortable all the time. he also made many sexual references that should never be made at work. I really hope this is not regular, as I am absolutely appalled. coffee was good, but eating was cut. will not come back.

Honestly, the personal felt sorry. he shook and shook his head at his personal because he didn't help us even though they were with others. we even heard him overheard, some wild inappropriate “jokes” to other customers “do not trust the...French” say “**** sri lankans everywhere”. he told us we should go somewhere else for vegan food. his employees were very nice to make accommodation and adjustments for us. almost everything we demanded was a bit disappointing. we land in the Olinda café, which was so much more beautiful.

We ordered the Sassy Burger and Smoked Salmon Open and they were good. Service and Coffee was ok. But it goes downhill quickly. Don't expect any ambience. Worst of all, it's winter and there's NO HEATING in this restaurant. It was COLD as. Perhaps I...was expecting too much.

We had a good time at brunch. However, the customer service was lacking a bit. When we arrived, the table was dirty and no one came to clean it. The staff kept coming by every 2 minutes to ask if we were ready to order. I was actually in the process of cleaning the table myself, but they didn't seem to care. Thank you.

The food at this restaurant is delicious, especially the burgers which are some of the best I have ever had. The coffee is also excellent, and the owner is a charming and welcoming person who made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Definitely deserving of 5 stars.

We visited the restaurant specifically for their scones. The staff were friendly and suggested ordering just one serving for two people (I was initially going to order two servings/four scones since they were generously sized - they were correct. The scones were delightful, fluffy, and made fresh on the premises. Rod was cheerful and even shared some interesting information about the surrounding area. I would definitely return in the future.

My husband and I were on a post wedding getaway and we visited the cafe two days in a row, once for lunch and the other for breakfast. Both times the service was warm and friendly, and we had a great seat by the window which you could look out at the trees while you ate. The teas and coffee were delicious but the highlight was definitely the club sandwich and pumpkin soup (lunch) and then the epic french toast for brekkie! The owner was lovely too and all round made our experience a great one. We will definitely be back!

What a cute little cafe, with good food! The owner himself came out to grab our orders and kept the children entertained. Love the idea of supporting small businesses especially after COVID. Friendly locals around walking their dogs. Great friendly cafe with a lovely vibe.
