Check-in was... read more Unfortunately, we were very disappointed overall. The internet advertised the most beautiful room, but ours was very old and in need of renovation. Check-in was anonymous via a letter with the key on the front door. Mold in the room and peeling wallpaper gave the impression that nothing had been done here for years. Unfortunately, our criticism was not taken seriously and the response was very poor, and we were heavily criticized. Breakfast could have been improved, and the tablecloth was still dirty from dinner and hadn't been changed. We won't be back.

The owner was completely unfriendly and didn't respond to our requests in any way.

The food is very fresh and beautifully presented, and the breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired. The staff is very friendly. The room with a balcony is bright and welcoming. It has everything you need: seating with a table both inside and on the balcony. There's plenty of storage space in the room. The beds are comfortable, and we slept well. There are many leisure activities available: a bowling alley in the building, renovations are also possible, and there are countless hiking trails nearby. Elzach is a 30-minute walk away, and there's a bus stop in town.

Avoid room... read more Typical German bed and breakfast. Hearty continental breakfast served. Rooms were clean. Good bedding. On the downside, there are maintenance issues. Avoid room at the back on top floor as the shower broke down and floor heating was operating full blast (you could barely stand on the floor). The shower also broke down so occupants had to take showers in the basement. Overall the soundproofing could be enhanced as we could hear hear guests using the WC on main floor from room on first floor.
