Everything else we ordered was salty tough and impossible to eat! Service was rushed as if they needed the table when the place had maybe 5 tables used. What a disappointment. This is not a cheap place.

We were looking for somewhere to eat in Elche, and on the way to the Basilica stopped here to look at the set Menu. We decided to book and then visited the Basi... read more We were looking for somewhere to eat in Elche, and on the way to the Basilica stopped here to look at the set Menu. We decided to book and then visited the Basilica. We had the set lunch which at 12.90 Euros each is very good value. There is a choice of starters and mains plus puddings. My partner had a Tuna Casserole, which he said was delicious and I had a rice dish with seafood. The bill for a three course lunch for the two of us was 32 Euros including a couple of glasses of wine, and a beer and water. The staff were excellent, very friendly and welcoming, and it was good to practice our Spanish. The restaurant is spotlessly clean, and we elected to eat outside, however I am so glad we booked, as the interior soon became full. I can thoroughly reccomend Monumental if you are looking for a nice lunch near the Basilica.
