It’s hard to describe what we didn’t like about this restaurant, one of the few to be open on May Day 2019 but something was lacking? Over generous portion sizes, we chose a Cesar Salad for one to share between two and it would have fed 8. Our fault for trying to eat half of it which destroyed main courses! Good wine list competitively priced.
A restaurant which offers, apart from all the local traditional mediterranean dishes a great variety of barbecue choices. There is also a MiBarra in Sta. Pola with the same excellent offer. Try the menus very good value.
We stopped in Elche on our last night as it was convenient for the airport so this was our last restaurant of the holiday. It did not let us down. The waiter was charming with passable English and his wine recommendation was spot on. Try Gallician white. The food was superb, I must mention the huge juicey smoked mussels, the best I have ever had
We chose this for our first evening meal in Elche based on good reviews and nearness to our hotel. Our first impressions were very positive, seeing smart white tablecloths and being greeted very pleasantly. All the staff were very helpful, despite not speaking English. Both our fish mains, sea bream and bass, were very enjoyable and well cooked. We were also happy with our desserts.
We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and were very happy we did. It's a very classy restaurant, recently renovated. We decided to have the lunch menu of the day. It was 15 euros for 5 courses including drinks (bargain! . I had an excellent Rosado wine. There were 3 starters that were served individually. Next time I would probably ask for just half a portion of the gazpacho as it was a large portion (but really good . All the courses were wonderfully presented and tasted delicious. I chose paella for my main course. It made a change to be able to order just one portion- usually there needs to be a minimum of two people. My daughter's salmon was well-presented and very tasty. I would recommend taking a shawl or cardigan as the air conditioning worked well and I felt a bit chilly towards the end of our meal. Sitting outside over lunch would have been too hot for us (33C . Several local people stopped by to have a glass of wine and nibbles at the elegant bar while we were having lunch.
