Massa Italian Cafe Gelateria

I lowered my star rating because of the loud and irritating techno music that played during my meal. It just didn't fit with the Italian theme of the restaurant, and it was quite bothersome. On a positive note, the panzerotti was excellent, and I really enjoyed the polenta fries. The gelato was probably the best I've ever had. I also tried the Red Nonna's Meatball Pizza, which I thought was very good, as well as the sausage and red roasted pepper pizza, which was fantastic.

We visit Massa almost every day and have spent a significant amount there over the past year. However, tonight when we came in for a coffee at 9:45 PM, we received a rather disappointing response — they had already cleaned the coffee machine and closed the kitchen, leaving only ice cream as an option. Really? It's a Saturday evening, and there were plenty of people sitting outside. They could have waited until after 10 PM to clean the coffee machine, especially with so many customers around. Because of this lack of effort from the staff, Massa lost our business tonight.

Massa's food, service, and value are always top notch. The panini are excellent, the pizza delicious, the salads are scrumptious, the pasta is fantastic, I love their coffee creations, and who can resist the artisan gelato?

The service was terrible. We noticed that people seated after us received their entrees before we even got our appetizers. The tables were dirty and not cleared. Customer service was lacking; when I asked about our appetizers, I was just given a nod. Our water wasn't refilled for over 15 minutes. This place really needs improvement.
