With a great view of the track and excellent food this has to be the perfect setting for lunch. We ate here in our recent trip to Brooklands and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here, thank you. View all feedback.

We had booked a driving experience for my son, and decided to have lunch at the restaurant. Unfortunately, I wish we hadn't. There was only one young lady serving, with two men in suits occasionally helping out. After a long wait, our order was finally taken. I ordered a burger and requested it to be cooked medium rare, but was told it could only be cooked well done. The burger I received was overcooked, dry, and tough, which was disappointing considering the price. If you do choose to eat here, I recommend sticking to a salad or just some chips. Alternatively, visit the café downstairs. The food was expensive, poorly cooked, and took a long time to be served. Despite leaving a significant amount on my plate, no one asked about my experience. I suggest avoiding this place altogether.

I am surprised by some of the negative reviews! My husband and I went to Gullwing today for afternoon tea, and it was fantastic. The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. Our entire afternoon at Mercedes Benz World was incredible. My husband participated in a driving experience and then we enjoyed tea and ale on the terrace overlooking the track. The weather was beautiful too. We will definitely be coming back!
My wife and I visited the Gullwing Bistro on the 7th of May for her birthday with several of our close friends one of which was vegan and my wife who is diabetic, all of which was outlined when I booked online. The restaurant is located on the upper floor of the Mercedes World complex of which has panoramic views of the handling test track below and of the surrounding area all of which was delightful as their was several petrolheads among us including myself as the previous day we had visited Auto Italia at the Brooklands Museum. Upon arrival we had to wait to shown to our table despite very few people in the restaurant as I made the booking for midday and once sat down our drinks order was eventually taken. During this time the female server had no comprehension that shandy could be made from more than just with lager as two of our friends had asked for, one made with bitter and the other from cider due to the hot weather outside and this was further compounded as several other drinks ordered arrived at the table incorrect and their was a feeling of no warmth or connection coming from her at all. On the next table a member of management was having a meeting with a colleague and had witnessed the level of service and disconnect from the female server and came over to apologise to the table, she then proactively reassigned a different member of staff to look after our table, what a difference this made to our eventually overall experience! Our new waiter then began to take our food order for both starter and mains and even noted to us that he realised that their were two in our party with dietary requirements and proceeded to inform us of two specials that were possible to order if desired. The starters and mains came out promptly in succession and were presented to high standard and were full of flavour and texture and a credit to the kitchen team at this establishment. My starter was a fashionable black pudding scotch egg with fresh herb salad presented on wooden board followed by a main of crumbled breaded chicken breast served a seasonal salad and chilli jam. From speaking to our friends at the table it was a general consensus that everybody was impressed with the food and is the one of the only reasons they would try the venue again in the future but only if the level of service especially after the initial impression that was given to everybody was at the level that the food was. On Sunday, July 15th, my party of four visited this restaurant. We chose a table with a fantastic view of the track and settled in for a meal. The waitress took our drink order, which took a while to arrive. We placed our food order and waited while watching the track. The food took quite some time to come out, but we had heard about the slow service from reviews so we were not surprised. The food was delicious. However, the wait for the main course was even longer. One of our party members who ordered steak requested a steak knife, but the waitress returned after a few minutes to inform us that they did not have any steak knives. A steak restaurant without steak knives... really? The wait for desserts was also lengthy. Fortunately, we enjoyed our meal because we were in good company and not in a rush. However, if the restaurant had been busier, I can only imagine how much longer it would have taken. It's worth noting that the restaurant was only a quarter full. The waitress was pleasant, but there was a lack of urgency in serving us well or ensuring a smooth dining experience. It seemed like she was mostly on her own, with occasional help from a male staff member, but she did not seem rushed. In conclusion, we had a lovely meal mainly due to the great company and delicious food. However, the service could definitely use some improvement. The restaurant has potential with its tasty dishes, but if the service were more efficient, it would be top-notch.
