Another diner found the dinner at this restaurant to be average at best, with uninspiring dishes and lackluster quality. However, the restaurant inside Woodlands Park Hotel received praise for its variety on the menu and tasty meals. Visitors enjoyed beautifully presented dishes and attentive staff, making it a must-visit for a luxurious night out. The South African Gourmet evening was a hit, with delicious food and perfectly paired wines, creating a fantastic dining experience. Overall, the restaurant showcased a mix of disappointing and delightful dining experiences.
Very good food, nice ambience, lovely setting, excellent staff. We could not fault it. Happily recommend
Came for a birthday meal recently, the service was fairly ok but the food was terrible and it cost a fortune. The meals were dry and flavourless and didn't taste fresh, but somehow they took 45 minutes to come out (we were the only people in the restaurant). The dessert was inedible and we were served gone off cream. Our server was lovely and apologetic, the only reason I'm not giving it 1 star, and did make it up to us. However based on all this we wouldn't return and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
So my family treated me for my 50th birthday to High Tea, very disappointed on the quality of the food! Had Hair in the scone, the Jam was runny the filter coffee was very wishy washy! The service was poor and very expensive for what you get! Also some tried to pay in cash and some by card they refused to accept cash and made us get one of the party the pay on card for that person to take the cash! When my sister booked she wasn’t told they don’t accept cash! Forgot to bring out my birthday cake that my family had bought along and had to be asked to bring it out just before we left. Would I go back NO is the answer!!!
After experiencing many afternoon teas in Surrey and London, this is by far one of the worst I’ve been to unfortunately. Beautiful location and picturesque building but sadly there was no atmosphere and very poor service. Firstly after requesting for quiet background music during afternoon tea and getting that request denied, it was so quiet that we could hear everyone else’s conversations and chewing of their food. The sandwiches were crustless and very small; flavours were fine but nothing exciting salmon; egg; tomatoes and then cucumber. Scones were tasty and very large which was a plus. Cakes melted in the sun by the time we got to them nice variety but nothing unique (eclairs/brownie/lemon tart/ couple of others. No one took us through what we were eating so they were all guesses. And lastly the service was extremely poor; one young female member of staff actually didn’t talk at all (found that extremely rude . It’s a shame as I think the location is brilliant, but the afternoon tea experience was very disappointing. I do not recommend.
The food is very good with large parts of the menu locally sourced. Portions are not skimped. The price is quite reasonable for this kind of hotel. The meal service is also more than acceptable
