Feedback
Layla's offers a unique dining experience with innovative sandwiches and delightful teas for an afternoon treat. While some patrons have praised the friendly service, others have reported disappointments, particularly regarding attentiveness and food quality. Celebratory occasions sometimes fell flat with oversight of special requests. Yet, a recent return visit surprised previous skeptics, revealing improved service and a charming atmosphere under a returning manager's guidance. Many guests laud Layla's for its vibrant cocktail selection and authentic Lebanese cuisine, with some deeming it a local gem deserving of exploration. Overall, the restaurant strikes a balance between highs and lows in customer experiences.
Want an afternoon tea with a difference? Try Layla's new offering. Sandwiches with unusual and tasty fillings, the best and lightest scones I have ever sampled and the most delightful little original pastries. Add to this a good choice of teas and a Bellini to kick it all off and you have a delightful afternoon. The service was friendly and attentive and my only criticism was the price. It certainly isn't cheap at £26.50 per head £36.50 if you have a champagne tea) but we were led to understand that they are looking to offer larger group discounts and possibly a slightly cheaper non alcohol version. We really enjoyed our afternoon and feel that Layla's afternoon tea is worth a visit.
My friend and I dined at 7pm. The service was very good and food delicious. Portions slightly on the small side. The restaurant was very busy but service did not suffer as a result. My one negative comment is the music which seemed to get louder as the evening progressed. My friend and I found it difficult to hear each other and so I think this venue suits a younger crowd particularly as there is a bar at the front.
The lamb and cocktails were amazing! It was a great Friday night out. I will definitely be coming back.
Based on a friend's recommendation, I selected this restaurant for its cocktail bar. Since it was my birthday, I also decided to have dinner there. I am extremely pleased with my choice as the experience was outstanding. The staff was attentive, friendly, and checked on us regularly without being intrusive. The food was incredibly delicious, with a wide selection of vegetarian and meat dishes. Overall, they made my birthday very special.
