Zisters - Elm Grove
Zisters
Description
Nestled in a cozy corner, this restaurant promises a delightful breakfast experience but has received mixed reviews. While some guests praise the attentive service and delicious dishes like the Herbivore Bowl and vegan options with innovative substitutes, others express disappointment over reservation mishaps and inconsistent food quality. Complaints about poorly executed tofu scrambles and overlooked spicy beignets contrast with reports of friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere. Though a few diners lament the wait for their meals, many agree that the charming decor and freshly squeezed juices make it a worthwhile stop for brunch lovers.

The restaurant had clearly labeled vegan options and the staff was knowledgeable and helpful in guiding me through the menu. I decided to try the vegan eggs and sausage dish, which was delicious. I believe they use Just EGG for their vegan egg substitute.
I have visited Zisters three times and tried three different vegan dishes. The food is delicious and the staff has been extremely accommodating each time. They offer vegan options such as vegan egg, vegan cheese, and vegan sausage. I had all three in my herbivore bowl, replacing the animal products. The portions are generous.
This is my go-to brunch place to bring friends, as they offer a wide variety of options that cater to everyone's preferences. Personally, I enjoy the cinnamon French toast and the portobello melt with vegan cheese. I was not a fan of the beignets, as they are traditionally covered in powdered sugar in New Orleans but here they are lightly dusted. The cocktails are great, and they also offer delicious coffee and lattes with vegan milk options.
Our group of 8 friends come for brunch once a month. Staff is friendly and courteous. Service is great and the food is very good. We are never rushed to leave. I highly recommend Zister’s.
