My first experience with Ethiopian cuisine couldn't have been better. I loved the variety of fillings available for the injera; they were all delightful. The sambusa was also delicious, especially paired with the green sauce. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Tigi's Ethopian:
It's nice that this restaurant caters to vegans. I ate here for an organized group meal. I was a bit disappointed as I found most things to be too spicy. Also the salads were not made with fully ripe ingredients (the tomatoes were a sort of pale reddish), the food had a piece of plastic stuck in it, and the ambiance left a lot to be desired. They did offer a big variety of things on this special menu, however. View all feedback.
I drove from Frederick to meet a friend here for dinner. We're both vegan. Everything we had was great! The menu has a vegan section with several elements. I had the vegan combo with 4 items Gomen Wot, Tiki Gomen Wot, Misir Wot and Tofu Wot. The food was not too spicy, as mentioned a previous review. Currently the restaurant BYOB is so that we have our own bottle of wine (and the restaurant supplied wine glasses). We enjoyed our meals very much. Our server was friendly and helpful. At the end of dinner the owner came out to ask us how our meal was. The environment is casual and clean. I would give five stars, but Happy Cow only allows up to four stars for restaurants that are not completely vegan. I'm back!
Food is pretty good. More filling than I expected based on sight. Service and ambiance is pretty basic. Vegan options are sufficient. Updated from previous review on 2024-07-29
I’ve eaten here several times, and the food is always good. My only complaint is it takes a while for them to make it and for wait service in general, which has been consistent with my experience at Ethiopian restaurants in general.
Tasty vegan food. Call ahead if you need gluten free injera since they don’t always have it. Dining area is bare bones and there is always loud TV on. Service can be slow.
My first try at Ethiopian cuisine, couldn’t have asked for better experience. The sambusa is delicious too, along with the green sauce Updated from previous review on 2022-07-19
