Shilla Bakery - Ellicott City

The variety of breads and sweets here is fantastic! I’m definitely planning to return to try more. I visited on a Saturday, and they had samples available, and everything was absolutely delicious!

This is an excellent Korean bakery that has grown beyond its original locations in the DC area. During the evenings and on weekends, you can enjoy a variety of delicious samples, so make sure to try some! However, when I visited one afternoon, there were no samples available. The small cookies are delightful, although they are a bit pricey. The doughnuts are outstanding—less sweet and much more flavorful than most traditional American ones, and they're very affordable. The espresso is decent and reasonably priced as well. There’s ample seating, and I believe they offer free Wi-Fi. On my last visit, they mentioned that a breakfast and sandwich menu is "coming soon.” I highly recommend this place. Forget Dunkin' Donuts—this is the kind of inexpensive, locally-owned, unique pastry and coffee shop I’ve been searching for in my area.

You can buy an entire loaf of whole wheat bread for less than $2! When you order, they slice it and package it beautifully for you. Their castella bread is outstanding, and the croissants have a lovely touch of sweetness from a glaze. The packaging is quite charming, and I've never regretted any item I've tried here. Overall, the ambiance is stylish and trendy, making it a great place to enjoy a 'try before you buy' experience!
