What Andrew Goldberger doesn't like about Marco Polo Ristorante Bar:
We went in there (a family of 6 with a small child , we called 10 minutes prior to ensure they had space for us. Upon arrival, we were rudely greeted by what I can only consider to be an beta employee who had the look of nervousness on her face as if we had just asked to eat on an airplane. I really enjoy the food and service here, but I wish the new menu offered more than just one soup option.
I've been here twice, and both times, the food was fantastic. The red sauce and mussels are expertly prepared.
I visited this restaurant alone two weeks ago and had a great experience. The cocktail shrimp and squash soup were both really good, but the penne was incredible. All of that cost me under $40 in total. I’ve definitely found my new favorite spot!
The first thing I have to emphasize is how we loved the atmosphere of the restaurant right when walked in. However, that would be the highlight for the rest of the experience. We waited over 30 minutes between our waiter coming to our table (not the waiters fault, I think he was responsible for almost 10 tables by himself) and we are talking that he only came over 4 times the whole time. Not only was service was at a snails pace, the food was mediocre at best with plates being prices at 16 dollars minimum.
Ordered Manicotti for delivery. Portion was good, but the Manicotti was flat instead of tubular round with little inside ingredients and bland flavor. Food from Marco Polo is typically excellent, but this dish was very disappointing. ?
