Valenca
Description
Valencia Restaurant was founded in 1989 by Teresa and Martinho Pereira, who immigrated from Portugal. They brought classic Portuguese dishes to the area, adapting family recipes for the restaurant. One of Valencia's specialties is a massive hot stone placed in the center of the table, allowing diners to cook their own proteins such as filet mignon, lobster, New York sirloin, marinated shrimp, and fresh cut ahi tuna.

I was very disappointed with my experience. I ordered filet mignon, but instead, I was served pork. When I brought this to the waiter’s attention, he insisted it was beef, but anyone knows the difference in texture and taste. They shouldn’t try to deceive their customers and should acknowledge their mistakes. I saw that they had pork mignon as a special of the day, but that’s not what I ordered; I specifically requested filet mignon with shrimp. The service charge was included, and my husband even left an extra tip, but honestly, I don’t think the waiter deserved it. He should have made sure we were happy, but he never returned to check on us.
We requested hot water four times, and we were attended by three different waiters who didn't introduce themselves even once. The salad was old and starting to turn brown, the water had floating debris, and the rice was cold and unappetizing. My wife had the stuffed crab cakes, which she enjoyed, while I had the surf and turf served on a hot plate. As my food was being prepared, we had to wait for salt and pepper, which should have been provided from the outset. I ordered a Coke, and one of the waiters brought it to our table while I watched him open and pour someone else's drink—quite disheartening given that this is one of our favorite places to eat. It feels as though you have to look a certain way to receive good service, even after spending hundreds of dollars on food and drinks and leaving generous tips for the staff. Shaking my head in disbelief.
