The service, despite being busy on a Friday night, was welcoming. Though the menu is not extensive, the dishes we tried were all delicious. It is recommended to call ahead to confirm their hours of operation as they are not always open.

For those with a smaller appetite, there were chicken, tuna and egg salad sandwiches. The setting on the water is beautiful. As this place is open during the tourist season, it is best to check availability before visiting. The staff were friendly, the food was good.The hotel, away from it all, between Kingston and Ottawa has been around since 1877 and is a world heritage site. It is a refuge for those with a desire to return to nature and check out some of the locks on the Rideau Canal.
