We opted for a room with a shared bathroom and luckily only had to share it with two other guests. When the hotel is full, you definitely have to queue... The bathroom is a good size and the shower has enough space. The only thing missing is a bench or a stool to put things on. The hotel is on a main road, so the front rooms get a little more street noise than the back ones. But it was quiet at night. From the hotel you can head straight to the Brocken without having to walk along the road (the Teufelsstieg is not far and it's not even an hour's walk to Schierke . The staff is super nice and accommodating! German is sometimes a bit difficult, but English worked perfectly. The breakfast was delicious and tailored to our needs. I can only highly recommend this accommodation for a walking holiday!

At that time there was still decent home cooking, as you know it from the Harz Mountains. Today, unfortunately, there is nothing left of it and you are served ready-made meals, which is a pity. The staff was very courteous and friendly, although we had to find someone to pay.
