One of my favorite places for breakfast anywhere. I try to go there once a week. I live on Butternut Lake, so it’s a bit of a hike but then so is every other place to eat, except for Lindy’s Hideaway and Swamp Witch Inn (which also has excellent food). Dee Dee has great food and great pies. I always get the same meal – sausage and mushroom omelette, hashbrowns well done, sourdough toast, a side of bacon, and a side of sausage gravy. I Ilstack the omelette on top of the hashbrowns and pour the gravy over the top. I usually fold the bread around the bacon and dip it in the gravy. I only eat half of it and bring the rest home and reheat it the next day in a skillet. It as good reheated as it is in the restaurant! If the pie is a something I like, I get a piece to go. Last time they had peach pie made with fresh Georgia peaches. I definitely took a piece home and it was awesome. I sit at the U shaped counter and always end up talking to at least the people sitting next to me and frequently everyone at the counter is involved in the same conversation. I’m usually there at least an hour. If you just ate and didn’t talk, you could be out of there in under 20 minutes. I only go during the week because it gets packed on the weekends. Last time I was in, I met Ann and her nephew Tony. They are from Milwaukee and only make it up here on business about once a year, but they always stop at Dee Dee’s when they are in the area. When they walked in, Katie, (who works the counter and also the tables) greeted them by name. While we were talking, Ann succinctly described it as the Cheers of breakfast restaurants Where everybody knows your name And they're always glad you came You wanna go where people know People are all the same You wanna go where everybody knows your name I believe they stop serving breakfast at 11:00. I missed the cut off once so I got a Turkey Club (and a piece of strawberry pie to go) both were excellent! Once you try Dee Dee’s you too will become a regular visitor it’s that good!
Anytime you want an awesome breakfast or very tasty lunch, this is the best place around. Service is the best, also. Highly recommend Dee Dee's Diner
We were out for a drive on Mother's Day and were looking for a different place to try for breakfast. Saw the high ratings and rave reviews and decided to stop in. Being Mother's Day it was very busy and a bit of a wait .. but the food was so worth it and the waistaff was wonderful as well. We had the build your own omlete and the cpuntey fried steak... both were excellent Definately worth the drive north of Rhinelander to go. Being Mother's Day all mothers rwceived a carnation and jumbo chocolate coverdd strawberry as well. So sweet!
Great food great prices and great service. Staff is friendly and atmosphere and decor is clean and so quaint. Will definitely be back.
This is one of our favorite breakfast stops! The service is wonderful attentive, helpful, and kind! The food has been excellent, no matter what we've tried, so I can't single out anything! Their specials are varied and interesting. Parking is directly in front of the door, so there's easy access. We've never had to wait long, either. The one thing to keep in mind is credit cards are not taken, but there is an ATM machine, and checks are ok. I highly recommend DeeDee's Diner!
