What User doesn't like about Somewhere Else Sports Grill:
The waitress SONNY is awesome but the bartender stephanie needs to be sober when she is working...a drunk bartender shows "No Class "and soon the buisness will go under because no one I know likes a drunk bartender and wont patronize any establishment that employes one View all feedback.
Wake up, buddy—just because you own the place doesn’t give you the right to treat others however you please. If we were in a different setting, I would handle things quite differently, and we’d probably end up having a real conversation. It’s a shame because this place has so much potential; it feels like he must have been bullied as a kid or something. I overheard him say he’s been in the bar industry for 15 years, but I think he just bought a bar and thinks that makes him cool. On a brighter note, the bartender, Paulie, was great, and the server, Franchesca, was also wonderful. It’s just disappointing to see people get mistreated or made fun of by those who feel they have power over others because of their jobs or status.
I can confirm that they are definitely closed. The signs are down, and the place is empty. It's a shame; I was there about six weeks ago and was looking forward to visiting again.
The atmosphere is fantastic, with TVs everywhere—even in the bathroom—so you won't miss anything. I ordered the steak nachos, which looked great on the surface, but they were dry underneath and had only a small amount of meat. Despite that, I plan to return and try something different, and I will update my review then. I definitely recommend giving this place a shot!
Just went here to go for taco Tuesday and found out the place has been permanently closed. Bummer we were just there a week ago.
Went here for happy hour on Friday with some friends, we got some drinks and a few appetizers to munch on. It was pretty quiet while we were there from about 5-7 and I have to say my favorite things from the menu were the fried green beans and tater tots. I am not a fan of tater tots but these guys have brought me to the dark side. They were light crispy and super good. I had a Moscow mule after they were out of a lot of their beers. Everything was pretty inexpensive and it was a good overall experience. I was in shock (in a good way) when our bill came to 30 dollars for 3 drinks, some sodas, and food. I would say they're a good little dive bar for El Sobrante.
