My husband and I love going to Chuy's. We have been there many times. The atmosphere is great and the staff is always friendly. The food is delicious as well. During our latest visit, I ordered the Elvis enchilada combo and my husband got the taco platter. Everything tasted very fresh and my margarita was perfect. We will definitely be returning to Chuy's in the future. View all feedback.
What Paige Ryan doesn't like about Chuy's:
We had tortilla soup and a chicken enchilada. The soup was more like chicken noodles to me. And the enchilada sauce tasted like lemon. The server was great, but I won't be revisiting in the future! View all feedback.
Super server, beautiful atmosphere and delicious eating
This was my first visit to Chuy's Tex-Mex and I really enjoyed it! The atmosphere was fun and relaxed, reminiscent of an old retro diner that was both cute and unique for a Mexican restaurant. The restaurant was clean and bustling with customers. Our server was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, which is always a plus. I asked for a recommendation and was not disappointed! The food was delicious. We started with the queso appetizer, which was tasty and I appreciated that it could be made without meat. I ordered the Chuychanga (chimichanga) with the recommended boom boom sauce, and everything was cooked perfectly. The sauce had a nice kick to it, but it was not overwhelming. My partner had the crispy tacos and really enjoyed them. His favorite part was the free salsa, which was fresh and refreshing. We will definitely be returning to try more dishes and enjoy a drink next time!
I went to have dinner at this restaurant and it was a terrible experience. Our waitress was very friendly, but the food was not good. We ordered fajitas and they were brought to us in just 5 minutes. It was obvious that they had been reheated because they were cold within a minute. The beans were terrible, and my companion ordered shrimp with his fajitas, but they did not taste good at all and were not even grilled. Overall, the quality of the meal was subpar. The only things we enjoyed were the salsa and chips, and the ambiance of the restaurant.
Went on National Margarita day for a margarita of course. My buddy and I both ordered the ground beef taco plate which came with beans and rice. The tacos were okay, they would have been better had they been served with a salsa on the side. We ate at the bar and maybe this is why no salsa was brought with our food. Typically on the restaurant side of Chuy's you'll be served three different salsas and chips while you wait for your meal. Of course we could have asked for some salsa but this was one of those times where we were hungry and we didn't want to bother so we just dove into our meal. I ordered a frozen lime margarita, it was good however when the bartender asked if I wanted another and I told him yes and I was brought a margarita on the rocks. This margarita was not as good as the first. While the bartender was attentive and friendly, attention to detail was certainly lacking. This was a disappointing visit.
We recently dined at Chuy's and we must say that our waiter, JD, was fantastic. Although we encountered a small issue with one of our dishes, he handled it gracefully, apologized for the kitchen's mistake, and presented us with other options. JD was incredibly attentive and truly made our dining experience great. Thank you, JD, we are grateful for your outstanding service.
