The Lunch Box - El Campo

Empty restaurant at 2:00pm. Food cold and left from previous mealtimes. Flavor far less than expected. Have to excuse some of these because was an off hour!

As we traveled through Texas we were wanting some BBQ and decided to stop here based on some reviews we had read on Yelp. The staff was wonderful and friendly the service was top notch. While there were a lot of choices to choose from and the prices were very good, we were disappointed in the food. It didn't have as much flavor as was desired in smoked meat and the BBQ sauce itself was very vinegary. The sides were somewhat tasteless as well and greasy.

When ever you travel and pass by el campo, Tx, stop by and eat at this restaurant is the best in town on bbq, brisket, smoked sausage.chopped beef sandwich, buffet all you can eat every day,on Friday they have fish fry and fried shrimp ! love it!!!

Ordered several bbq dishes for a family visit. The meat was wonderful. The ribs, the sliced brisket, chicken and sides were a treat. Too bad i live so far away or this place would be on my regular rotation.

Man this was a nice surprise. Went there on fried chicken Wednesday and it didn't disappoint. Food was good and tea was sweet, which should be the case with down home food such as this. There was a steady stream of customers coming and going. Seating is limited so you may have to enjoy your meal with a stranger. I'm from MS and I approve this fried chicken.
