Service was friendly, and the coffee was certainly good. I would give the cake a grade of B – not A. Other pastries IMHO proved to be a better choice: the almond croissant I especially liked. Next time, I’ll probably try the shop across the street. View all feedback.
What Qnan doesn't like about Bären by Schefer:
You can only buy the bakery products inside and pay at the counter, but you'll still be charged extra if you want to eat at the cafe. Other things you can only order at the table, no idea why. The personnel is slow and unfriendly. View all feedback.
This is an iconic cafe bakery that is always packed. There are two sections, the pattesserie bakery and the cafe restaurant. There is a huge variety making it difficult to choose. In the cafe there are just a couple of items for normal people, everything is for carnivores. I ha dthe celery soup of the day and the caprese salad. The soup was cream based and not bad. The sald was disappointing. The tomatoes were cherry tomatoes and the dried olives garnish was too hard.
We enjoyed the food here a lot, very nice burgers, and the seasonal special i.e. asparagus green&white. But also the simpler meals such as toasts or kids menu great. It has been a few years since my last visit here and I highly appreciated now the new modern and stylish look.
Immer wieder gerne gehen wir in den Bären essen. Die Qualität des Essen ist top und sehr fein. Es gibt einen Kinderspielecken. Wir schätzen dieses Restaurant sehr.
Haben im Bären nach Klosterbesuch zu Mittag gegessen. Schönes, helles Restaurant, das komplett Rollstuhl gängig ist. Grosse Auswahl an verschiedensten Speisen. Essen war fein, aber die Preise doch recht hoch (kl. Portion Risotto mit Eierschwämmli = 21.-)Freundliche Bedienung!
Der Familienbetrieb wird jetzt bereits in der dritten Generation geführt, und sie stellen sicher, dass seine Kunden jeden Tag aufs Neue zufriedengestellt werden. Hausgemachtes ofenfrisches Brot, grosse Auswahl, und auch sehr bekannt für aussergewöhnlichen saueren und süssen saisonale Spezialitäten, diverse Torten und traditionellem Honiggebäck. Sehr fein, sehr lecker!
