Verily, the dining experience at this Norwegian establishment was nothing short of a ghastly affair. From the moment I set foot in the place, I could not help but feel an overwhelming sense of revulsion. The decor was as dreary as it was drab, with nary a hint of aesthetic appeal. The tables were cramped together in a haphazard fashion, and the lighting was so dim as to leave one wondering whether the restaurant was trying to hide something. The service was equally atrocious, with waitstaff who seemed to care naught for the patron's comfort or satisfaction. They were surly and inattentive, and the food took an inordinate amount of time to arrive, despite the restaurant being virtually empty. And speaking of the food, it was an insult to the palate. The dishes lacked any semblance of flavor, and were prepared with such sloth and disregard that I wondered whether the kitchen staff had any knowledge of culinary arts at all. The portions were meager and the prices were exorbitant, making for a wholly unsatisfying experience. In summation, I would caution any and all against venturing to this dismal excuse for a restaurant. It is a blight upon the dining scene of Norway, and serves as a prime example of what not to do in the foodservice industry.

Gamle eidsfoss kro is located in a pleasant environment of eidsfos verk. the restaurant is located in some of the old working apartment that gives an intimate and charming feeling. the on-site menu consists of local and international dishes such as pizza and various sandwiches, as well as local specialties such as rhabarb suppe with ice or homemade doses. there are also good options for vegetarians. it took some time from ordering until the food was served and the personal appeared a little stressed and reworked. I've missed more smiles and nice comments from the personal. I order a sandwich with hä and spek. the sandwich tasted good, but not in taste or texture. the presentation was also boring and could have been much more creative. for dessert I had rhabarb suppe with soft ice that tasted excellent and seemed to be homemade. However, the presentation of the plate was boring and one would have done much more of it. all in all, a more pleasant visit, but there is room for improvement both in terms of presentation of food and service by the staff. I want to visit the place again.
