Sherbrooke Pub - Edmonton
Sherbrooke Pub
Description
A family-owned neighborhood pub balances warm, community-minded hospitality with classic pub fare and lively games. Appetizer specials and tasty wings offer good value, and the kitchen turns out dependable comfort food; some praise an outdoor pool and welcoming staff. However, service can be inconsistent, occasional billing errors and distracted staff occur, and issues like an oversized, bland burger and fryer cross-contamination have been noted. Still, many patrons describe it as a friendly community hub worth visiting.
Feedback
This local pub is decent overall. The food was cooked to a safe temperature, and the place was clean, though a bit musty as you'd expect. I ordered the cowboy burger, and I must say that sometimes less is more. The patty was large but lacked flavor, and the burger itself was stacked so high that it was impractical to eat. The fries were fine, but it was clear that the fried fish is cooked in the same fryer, which isn't ideal. Ideally, the $19 burger should be priced at $17, with a smaller but higher-quality patty and the fries cooked separately. It seems to be operated by a mother-son duo; the mom was friendly, but some staff appeared distracted, though that might have just been an off day. I'm not sure if we'll return.
This is a charming little neighborhood pub. I popped in for a quick beer and a snack, and the cook and server were both incredibly friendly!
Service seemed confused when asked about drinks and food items. We were over charged for things we didn't even order. Excuses were made but the issue was rectified. Other than that. There was a special on appetizers. 2 for 16$. We got the wings and dry ribs. Very tasty. The 2 of us ate and had drinks for under 40$. Might try again another day to see if that was just a bad day.
Trevor was fantastic! What a great guy! You should definitely go meet him. He would be amazing at stand-up comedy!
Today being Easter and a lot of people may not have family or friends to share dinner with. The owner of the pub who works 7 days a week probably 15 hours a day! Gave away Easter dinner to anyone who needed it turkey stuffing all the fixing including pie for dessert. Her kindness and her love of the community should not go unnoticed. Do your self a favour and spend your money here.
