I ordered the #20 soup, but I found it lacking in complexity of flavors. It only had two shrimp, a few small pieces of chicken and beef. It wasn't the best soup I've ever had.
I decided to try out this restaurant spontaneously, craving pho, and I was pleasantly surprised. The broth was flavorful, providing a delightful option for gluten-free customers who cannot use sauces. I also sampled the Vermicelli bowls, which were decent but had a strong kick of spices.
I ordered dinner at 8:20 pm. The food arrived quickly, but the portions were mostly noodles with very few vegetables. The chicken tasted like fish, which I do not like, so I did not eat much of it. The next day, I felt nauseous and could still taste the meal. I had to take Pepto-Bismol to feel better. This was my first time ordering from this restaurant and I will not do so again. We spent $45 on a meal that none of us enjoyed. It is strange that we all felt sick after only eating toast that day.
I typically do not like to leave negative reviews, but the service at this restaurant was absolutely dreadful. My family and I enjoy going out to have a good time and eat good food, but our experience was ruined by the rude and inattentive service. It felt like there was no sense of hospitality or care for their customers. We had to constantly ask for basic things like salt and sauce, and to make matters worse, the food was subpar with old, bland rice. I even felt ill afterwards. The server was cleaning with a broom and vacuum during our meal, making us feel unwelcome. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who values good service and good food. Every customer deserves better than what we received. This was my second visit and it will definitely be my last. Stay away from Pho-Express if you want to avoid wasting your money on a disappointing dining experience.
I have dined at this restaurant a few times over the years, including a recent visit. The service was excellent and attentive. The vermicelli chicken dishes were delicious with generous portions, although slightly overpriced. The restaurant was surprisingly clean, especially for an Asian restaurant. I would definitely recommend it.
