Stopped by to have a quick bite between meetings, had a steak sandwich special for $ 9.95.the server was very pleasant and the food service was fast and steak was cooked correctly and served hot. Good place for a quick bite and a cold Dos Equis, will return.
The kids typically like one of the big chains for our breakfasts while on holiday, but convinced them to try something different. Glad we did as the pancakes were far superior to what we typically get at that major chain, and the sausages were excellent also. Service was good, and pricing reasonable. We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area.
Been there at 12am they were closed. Wrong business hours. Had to pay the cab for that !!
I made a special trip to Newcastle on a Sunday afternoon because it's a favorite spot for music enthusiasts to enjoy some live performances. The venue had the classic vibe of a dive bar, which I anticipated. There was plenty of seating, a bar area, video lottery terminals, and a dance floor. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. The menu offered a surprisingly wide range of options for a pub, including an all-day breakfast as well as various burgers, sandwiches, and snacks typically found at such places. I tried the veggie scramble, which was quite good—reasonably priced, a generous portion, crispy potatoes, and they easily accommodated my request to omit dairy from the eggs and toast. I would definitely return, especially for the live music.
I dropped by the Newcastle this Thursday to watch some friends play a dinner set, which is a new and very successful promotion here. The place was full, but the service was quick and friendly. I had not been seated for more than a couple of minutes before our server put a frosty Guinness in my hand. This bar looks very spartan when it is empty, but it fills well and often, as they play some of the best live music in the city. The Newcastle is a popular gig for musicians, for the friendly atmosphere, the large stage and dance floor, and the quality of the sound. The Newcastle also serves some of the best Bar Grub around. The menu has lots of standards, but there are a few food items that stand out. The house specialty is their Butter Chicken, which is like crack. You will come back for it, again and again. I do not understand the logic behind it, as I have eaten in many of the very best Indian restaurants in our fine city, but none of them compare to this pub in the middle of nowhere. Served with Jasmine rice, Papadams and Naan this is a filling, savoury, endorphin tweaking dish of absolute wonder. If you really want to slow your blood flow, they do a Butter Chicken Poutine that is so decadent one should have a priest on call to absolve you of your meal. In all honesty, I have only had a few items from the menu, because once I had tasted the Butter Chicken, I was in it's thrall. Come to the Newcastle. Taste the Butter Chicken. Join us... Join Us...
