Most popular Korean style soup in Edmonton. It's hard to find all your favorite soup in a store, but this store has more than 20 soup options. Sooda Soup is always my way! Must try crispy emptying and corn cheese, it is so delicious. A big deal at this store is your large amount of secondary dishes, radishes, Kimchi, bean sprouts. It can never go wrong. Herbal medicine is also very tasty, it comes with salad, garlic,... View all feedback.

What Anonym dislikes about Dookbaeki Korean South:
I usually order once a week, but I have a terrible experience for seafood pancakes last time, it was burned and not cut, I don't know, but I hope it warns someone to restore it, and I ordered and I got it! I understand the dinner time can be busy, but not fool customers. Check your order before you go home, not in the restaurant, but in the car, people View all feedback.

The experience at Dookbaeki was decent overall, but could have been better in a couple of key areas. The menu leans heavily towards soups and stews, and is notably purely Korean, as opposed to a mix of Korean plus other cuisines like some other Korean restaurants do. We enjoyed the food generally. The soup my daughter had (budae-soontubu) was very hot both temperature wise and taste wise (maybe a little too spicy for her) but it also jad a ton of soft silky tofu which she really enjoyed with a side of plain white rice. On the other hand, my beef bibimbap (sogogi dolsot bibimbap) was disappointing. It was bland, the rice was too dry, and the beef was almost non-existent. I was able to fix the blandness and dryness issue by adding lots (I mean LOTS) of hot sauce. Fortunately, the sides were great: pan fried tofu and steamed dumplings really hit the spot. As well, the supplied condiments (sesame bean sprouts, Kimchi and pickled radish) were good quality so no complaints there. Two slightly negative things to note: 1) the tableside bell to ring for service needs to be held down until you hear it ring. We tapped it once quickly and saw the red light come on, then waited patiently for 15 minutes for no service. We tapped a second time but held long enough to hear it ring, and then service was fast and friendly. So, know that if the bell doesn't ring, you will be ignored. 2) the wood slats in the table top have gaps into which food particles have fallen. The gaps appear to have been covered/filled by white silicone at some point, but a lot of that is long gone and now the exposed joints are full of crud, and it's pretty gross... Didn't enjoy eating over top of past diners dried out rice grains, rotting bits of meat and veggies, dribbles of sauce all fallen I to the tabletop crevices. Just... Ug. Overall, not bad but definitely could have been better.

Came here after seeing an ad at Gangnam. I am so glad I did! The food I tried is delicious! I got #22 on the menu which is a spicy BBQ chicken and cheese. Had some rice cakes and cabbage mixed in. Got a side of rice with it as well. It was absolutely delicious! Very spicy and flavourful. I tried a bit of #24 which is a bibimbap bowl. Also very flavourful and delicious! It comes with kimchi, something pickled and a bean sprout mix to add to the bibimbap. The corn cheese was delicious as well! Staff were very friendly! Super handy being able to call staff with a call button on the side. I highly recommend this place if you are into trying new cultural foods!

First time in this location and I like to point out that is a very friendly place. From the moment I got in, they were on top to make sure I understand the menu. Small location but is worth it and the food was unforgettable. Can?t wait to come back, enjoy a good time and food. Until next time and keep on eating.

My hubby is Korean this is his my) favourite restaurant in the whole province! Some of the most authentic Korean food you can find in Alberta! All their soups are amazing, but the Jangtuh Gukbab is my fave! Their cold noodles bossam are super good too! We live in Calgary but we always come here every trip to Edmonton. The server always remembers us even though we only come once or twice a year!

Great service, great flavors aside from the dumplings great menu selection, good portion sizes and almost everything was delicious. Went out for an early Mother's Day dinner. Really enjoyed the food. The restaurant is quaint and simple. Not fancy. It was busy when we went. The deep fried dumplings were not as good as the ones at their WEM location. I was really looking forward to having them and was disappointed with the ones at the Calgary Trail location. They were not the nice puff that I am used to them being, and were dry with so so flavor and possibly even less fillings than the WEM location ones. It's possible it was just a so so dumpling day. I would be willing to go back and give them another try.If the dumplings aren't a make or break for you, definitely give them a try!

Been here about 4th times, it could be easy more often but we live up on the north side which is far to drive down here unless we have other things to do too so I never miss the opportunity to eat here! Always delightful and delicious bowls of soup, i which I could try them all at once! My husband loves pork bone soup so it kinda only bowl he will order but he does try my soup and he like them too. I already thinking about next time what I will order next!

Went on a Friday and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. It wasn't too loud so I could enjoy the conversation. I got the seolleong-tang (21), and the broth was super delicious and creamy, I also enjoyed having control over the salt level of my soup. Service was great.
