Was Anonym at Dookbaeki Korean South a mag?
Dookbaeki Korean South is home to Edmonton’s most popular Korean-style soups. While it's often difficult to find all your favorite soups in one place, this restaurant offers over 20 different options. I always go for the Sooda Soup – a definite favorite! Be sure to try the crispy dumplings and corn cheese; they’re incredibly delicious. One of the highlights here is the generous selection of side dishes, including rad... View all feedback.

What Anonym dislikes about Dookbaeki Korean South:
I usually order once a week, but I have a terrible experience for seafood pancakes last time, it was burned and not cut, I don't know, but I hope it warns someone to restore it, and I ordered and I got it! I understand the dinner time can be busy, but not fool customers. Check your order before you go home, not in the restaurant, but in the car, people View all feedback.

The experience at Dookbaeki was decent overall, but could have been better in a couple of key areas. The menu leans heavily towards soups and stews, and is notably purely Korean, as opposed to a mix of Korean plus other cuisines like some other Korean restaurants do. We enjoyed the food generally. The soup my daughter had (budae-soontubu) was very hot both temperature wise and taste wise (maybe a little too spicy for her) but it also jad a ton of soft silky tofu which she really enjoyed with a side of plain white rice. On the other hand, my beef bibimbap (sogogi dolsot bibimbap) was disappointing. It was bland, the rice was too dry, and the beef was almost non-existent. I was able to fix the blandness and dryness issue by adding lots (I mean LOTS) of hot sauce. Fortunately, the sides were great: pan fried tofu and steamed dumplings really hit the spot. As well, the supplied condiments (sesame bean sprouts, Kimchi and pickled radish) were good quality so no complaints there. Two slightly negative things to note: 1) the tableside bell to ring for service needs to be held down until you hear it ring. We tapped it once quickly and saw the red light come on, then waited patiently for 15 minutes for no service. We tapped a second time but held long enough to hear it ring, and then service was fast and friendly. So, know that if the bell doesn't ring, you will be ignored. 2) the wood slats in the table top have gaps into which food particles have fallen. The gaps appear to have been covered/filled by white silicone at some point, but a lot of that is long gone and now the exposed joints are full of crud, and it's pretty gross... Didn't enjoy eating over top of past diners dried out rice grains, rotting bits of meat and veggies, dribbles of sauce all fallen I to the tabletop crevices. Just... Ug. Overall, not bad but definitely could have been better.

Came here after seeing an ad at Gangnam. I am so glad I did! The food I tried is delicious! I got #22 on the menu which is a spicy BBQ chicken and cheese. Had some rice cakes and cabbage mixed in. Got a side of rice with it as well. It was absolutely delicious! Very spicy and flavourful. I tried a bit of #24 which is a bibimbap bowl. Also very flavourful and delicious! It comes with kimchi, something pickled and a bean sprout mix to add to the bibimbap. The corn cheese was delicious as well! Staff were very friendly! Super handy being able to call staff with a call button on the side. I highly recommend this place if you are into trying new cultural foods!

My hubby is Korean this is his my) favourite restaurant in the whole province! Some of the most authentic Korean food you can find in Alberta! All their soups are amazing, but the Jangtuh Gukbab is my fave! Their cold noodles bossam are super good too! We live in Calgary but we always come here every trip to Edmonton. The server always remembers us even though we only come once or twice a year!

Korean home style cooking with good flavor. This place shares the same building with another Korean BBQ restaurant Baekjeong (two different entrances). We really enjoyed their cold noodles and tofu stew. Their kimchi side dishes were quite tasty aswell.
