Description

Dan Shing Restaurant in Edmonton offers a wide range of Cantonese Chinese dishes in a cozy atmosphere. While some reviewers found the menu to be too expansive, others were impressed by dishes like the Pho soup and ginger beef. The Pork and Shrimp Dumpling soup, Amoy noodles, and shrimp rice rolls were highlighted as top choices by satisfied customers. Despite the basic decor and occasional lack of attentiveness from the staff, many diners keep coming back for the delicious food and reasonable prices. With consistent high quality and a loyal customer base, Dan Shing has established itself as a favorite spot for authentic Chinese cuisine in the city. And don't forget to bring cash, as they do not accept cards.

We have been here twice and have not been disappointed. The Pho soup is large and a good price. Best ginger beef we've had in the city and large portions for the price. Would recommend!

Dan Shing is not a ritzy spot by any means but if you want good Cantanese Chinese food it is the place tp go.The Pork and Shrimp Dumpling soup is one of my favourites, as are the Amoy noodles which is a dish with rice vermicelli, beans sprouts, bits of pork, onion, egg and thinly sliced Chinese mushrooms. The rice rolls are very good, especially the shrimp ones. Their gai lan dishes are good, either beef or chicken. They have some more authentic choices such as vietnamese soups or tofu with BBQ pork and onions but also the North American standards like; wor won ton soup, sweet and sour pork, chow mien, etc. They even have a combination plate that is enough for 2 if you have soup. Their house special fried rice is very good. It is true that they aren't real attentive, they usually have 2 ladies to do everything, from cleaning tables to serving. You arrive, you sit, you eat, what more could you want? I have been there alone, with my fella, with family and friends and we always bring food home. They also renovated last year, updated the colours and such.Thank goodness they left the roomy booths. FYI, it's CASH ONLY.
