This was my first time back to Blues on Whyte in about 15 years. What a great place! We got there about 7:30pm and the bouncer was very friendly on the way in (no cover charge!!!). We found our way to a table near the stage and settled in. The server was quick to our table for our order which just as quickly filled. It's cash only there so you can't start a tab but not a big deal, just plan ahead. Very reasonable price for a round of drinks. The server was attentive but not pushy. We watched a number different bands and variations of the different bands until the main act about 10:00pm. Very talented people that play there; they way they can just jump in a play with strangers is amazing. There is no kitchen there so you can bring in your own food which is very cool. There is no pretentiousness to this place, people are just there to have a good time. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

We only stayed for a beer and didn't get to enjoy any music beyond warms ups but will for sure be back to enjoy the full offering when it's not a weeknight.

I used to really like this bar and I still do but unfortunately on my last visit during the Christmas holidays I thought I would bring my parents here for a few drinks, they are both 60 years old and the bouncer asked my father for ID naturally being on vacation from Ireland and being 60 he didn't have ID.He was refused entry because of this, at the time I didn't care but thinking back it was ridiculous to ask him for ID and refuse entry.

The renovation was long overdue. It has always been a fantastic location for one of the best venues in Edmonton. The updated stage and room are far superior to the old days. A great room has now become a spectacular one.
