What Drew Conway doesn't like about Claire's Pantry:
My mom used to bring me here all the time when I was growing up. I used to love getting the Oreo cheesecake for dessert. It seems those days are long over, as they don’t even serve dinner anymore. Not only that, but the prices are astronomically high. I came in for lunch and got a sandwich, which came with fries, and a soft drink. Total with tax and tip was over $30! Service was fantastic, and being here brought back... View all feedback.
Gluten free French toast special. If you don’t want it juicy, leave off the strawberry compote. I loved the blueberry, banana fruit toppings and fresh whipped cream. I added a pkg of sugar in the raw to the fruit and it was perfect. Jackie was our waitress and she was great. Clean and nice atmosphere. I’d go here again. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free bread made good French toast!
I've walked past this restaurant many times, and today was the first time I've had a meal here. It looks like an old-time, basic restaurant, and it is in all the best ways. I had one of the best BLTAs I've had in a looong time. The bread was perfectly toasted, and there were generous portions of both the bacon (cooked crisp, just the way I like it) and avocado. For my side, I chose cole slaw, and again, it was a generous portion. Our server was friendly, and our food was served promptly. We ate in a booth in the bar, which wasn't crowded. It was a little quieter than the main dining room due to the lower ceiling. This experience reminded me not to make assumptions. Sometimes, an unassuming place is a gem!
This is a great go to for meeting up with friends or family. There is a lot of seating so we didn't have to wait to be seated on a busy Saturday! The food is standard American fare but done right and in good portions. The service was excellent and the location is great, three blocks from the ferry.
Surprisingly pricy considering it is regular cafe fare.
I'm a huge foodie and my coworker suggested this place to me. I had the corned beef Benedict which was delicious. The potatoes are to die for. They're crispy yet tender and seasoned very well. If anything, come for the potatoes!
