What vamsi b doesn't like about Akbar Restaurant:
Stale food is served in Sunday buffet, feels like leftover non veg items from a party. Very limited items for 22$ which is overpriced and additional 18% service charge, soft drinks are very overpriced for the quantity. One of the bad experiences in NJ. View all feedback.
My family used to come here frequently way back in the day. The food had deteriorated right after pandemic but we decided to give them another try. The food was good but service was poor. We were there to celebrate a special occasion and were looking forward to a nice dinner. However as soon as they saw us put our utensils down, they cleared our table in a rush and dropped the bill on the table. We were still not ready to go, but multiple people came to me asking if I put my credit card in the bill folder. They didn’t even give us a chance to get more drinks. So rude. Our family felt so rushed and disgusted we decided to leave. As soon as we got up, the servers sweeped to our table and even blocked me from getting out of my chair because they just wanted to clear the table. Our dinner was ruined by this unpleasantness and will not be going back because of this rudeness.
Avoid at all cost. Been to Sunday buffet there is only 1 Veg Starter(Vada) 1 Non veg starter apart from pani puri. 2 Veg curry, 2 Non Veg curry, Biriyani, white rice, Bhaji that’s it. Vanilla ice cream, Gajar halwa BredCrumbs(Shahi Tukda) in desert. All these for 22$ which is ridiculously overpriced for the number of items. There is a catch again, they charge around $4.5 per plate as gratuity which takes the total to 26.5 Tax per buffet. So don’t believe them when they say per buffet is 22$.Absolutely pathetic taste and price for the number of items. That’s is why only 5 to 6 tables were occupied on a Sunday afternoon. I was one of the unfortunates ones to try it out. Enjoy your time somewhere else.If u doubt what I say, then please do checkout the menu before taking the table and ask for the Gratuity.
Beautiful Restaurant and place for family parties like Weddings, Sweet sixteen and birthday celebrations. We had a lunch and it was absolutely amazing. We had Goat Korma, Butter Chicken, Mixed Grill, Mix pakora, Garlic Nans, Palak Paneer and so many other dishes. Everything was fresh and made while we were waiting. We were 10 people of our family. Service was great. Loved the interiors of Restaurant and Hall where receptions are held. Very friendly and cooperative staff. Also the reasonable price for the food. I have been there before attending wedding but it was our first time for lunch with family. Love this Place. We will be back again.
Rohit from Akbar did a great job organizing all the party details. The food was great and the head chef perfected all menu to our taste. The fish, chicken and goat were delicious. The staff was organized. Highly recommend this place.
I had ordered thru Uber eats , a Tandoori pomfret and it was right spiced and rightly cooked. The masala was right and flavorful. It is tough to make a Tandoori fish right but felt this did hit the mark.
