Burrito 'n ' Shake - Edinburgh

This place gets 5 stars for opening hours. It's really a five-star trip as you can sit down every hour. Food is better than average, but no gourmet experience. So 3 stars as restaurant, 5 as late night

A great themed atmosphere with the right music playing and just what I was wanting for my lunchtime meal while I was visiting the area on a Saturday. Despite Google showing they only open late in the day/evenings, they were open for lunch when I visited. A generously sized chicken burrito was delicious as was the vanilla milkshake (although for the milkshake price, it could have been similarly generous in size and without whipped cream on top). The staffmember was lovely and provided great customer service. The only way she could have been even better would be to guide me on the different fillings I didn't want rice and in the end I said the chef can decide (because I didn't know what the fillings were). It was quiet too so there was time for this. I tried to contact the manager to let them know the Google hours need correcting but couldn't find a way the contact part of the website only gives the address. Still highly satisfied though and will return if I'm in the area again.

I’m really disappointed on how my favourite restaurant changed during the years, yesterday was my last shoot there, I ordered a lot of items starting with nachos and they gave me them on a rectangular tray the nachos were on the bottom and I had to get my fingers all the way deep to get them, the cheese was not melt, I wanted to use sauces but i was very limited, I used to enjoy having a big variety of sauces placed at the entrance, the tacos were okay but they gave me a little bit of guacamole even tho i request a lot, my gf burrito bread wasn’t cooked, the milkshakes were okay and also the chips but the churros were bad some of them had chocolate others no, I think is better if we could deep them on chocolate instead of having chocolate on top, the food was pricey but it was never a problem since it used to be amazing. This place used to be my favourite the meat will taste amazing mixed with the cheese in a round tray rather than a rectangle one and the nachos where places on the sides and the food on the middle, I left the place very disappointed knowing is the only Halal place where I can eat tacos or nacho, The staff was very friendly but the food was not what I expected, I truly hope to be back if it changes as it was, Sorry for the review hopefully this review makes a change. Found a strand of hair in the food. Unfortunately, I had to chuck it away. Both food money wasted for me. I would not recommend this place I'm afraid.

The food proportions were overall good, although some products are better value for money than others. the burrito was massive. the food was made fast.
