I myself and several friends had a cake, wine and beer afternoon at this pub. Fantastic time had all of us..A great old-fashioned pub with atmosphere and clearly many regular. A visit worth View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Thomson's:
I stopped by twice today and it was closed although the website says they are open. I was so hoping to try their Steak pies as no one seems to serve these anymore. View all feedback.
The staff at this restaurant did not engage with us when we entered, and there was no line at the bar. There was a small lip on the bar, which caused my pint to tip over and spill. I apologized profusely to those around me and to the bartender serving the customers next to me, but he did not acknowledge the incident or offer any help. Instead, he simply grabbed some blue roll and wiped up the spill without assisting me. When I asked for the roll to help clean up, he ignored me and continued pouring drinks. This manager was incredibly rude and ignorant, and I will not be returning to this establishment. I will be sure to inform others about the manager's behavior. If you are not a regular here, you may want to avoid this place. Very rude experience.
Great place good selection of beers and whiskies. Great service too.
Small, traditional local bar with excellent beer and spirit selection. The beer is always well poured and presented and the staff are knowledgeable and passionate about their products. The whole bar is spotlessly clean and has a laid back friendly atmosphere. Recommended.
Great pub, although they do not serve pies. The beer selection and staff are fantastic.
